Nope - I am under the impression that emmc will delete any data/program changes I have done. But the OS should be wiped and updated. At the point where my phone hangs - enter the PIN code - no program could be in the way and blocking anything - or am I wrong?

Happened to me before (battery died and the phone refused to turn on, even when charging it).
My fix was removing the battery for more than 10 minutes, and then re-insert it and charge the phone while its off for at least 30 minutes.
After that, I could turn it on (of course I kept recharging it).
I already wrote this in another thread, but I'll repeat it again here:

I've noticed that doing that (removing the battery for more than 5 minutes) usually fixes melfunctions which one would otherwise think can be fixed only with flashing the device or sending it to be repaired...

Yeah it will delete/wipe the lot. You would need to back up anything that you need.I'm not saying you definately need to do this, but it's entirely up to you. Doing both will return the device to a factory fresh state. This is your last resort as it where. Better to try eveything else first before factory reset.

ive had this problem before
this is a wreck honestly
what you need it to flash the emmc and rootfs
try connecting it to your laptop or something have it back up some of your data
i dont know how i did it but the phone booted only when connected via usb to the PC and then as soon as i release it it shuts off
so i backed up all the data i had then hard flashed it
hope that works

cheers

EDIT:sorry for repeating the same info above i didnt see that there was a 2nd page :P
