Hey, I'm interested in a P1610, have you sold it yet?

Not sure what we do now, do we continue the discussion of a possible sale on this forum or via our eMail Ids. I have a P1120 now but the Transmeta Coruso 800MHz processor is a bit slow and the memory can't go beyond 256MB. Super Pi @ 2M is over 8 Mins. Therefore it's probably time to move on, although I don't use the P1120 much it's still frustrating because it's basically a one application at a time labtop. Is the digitizer on the p1610 OK? There was a problem with a few of them. The owners couldn't pen track a straight line at the bottom of the screen, it would rise up as it moved along.

Interesting question from Koastcanuck. This is my experience:
In januar 07 I bought the p1610. After some weeks the digitizer started to behave strange. When drawing the pen along the under long side the curser/arrow moves upward at two places. Or in the portret mode on the right side the curser suddenly moves away from the pen position. If I draw a straight line on the right side in the portret mode from the upper right corner to the lowe right corner it gets a little bubble at the top and a big bubble near the bottom. This happens only while using the pen and not with the pin or mouse. We recalibrated a few times, but it didn’t help.
Fujistu replaced the screen with a new one. It lasted some weeks and we got the same problem again. Again Fujitsu replaced the screen. It worked well some weeks and then it started all over again. After many discussions Fujitsu replaced the whole computer. I was happy. After a few months though, the same problem has started again. At Fujitsu-Siemens they say I'm the only person that has this problem. Well I'm wondering if that is true. I'm also wondering what I am doing to get this problem. I just use the p1610 as a handwriting note book in the portret mode. For scrolling I place the pen often at the lower site of the righthand scrollbar and move it up to scroll. Might it be that frequently starting the penpressure at the same place disturbs the digitizer or what. Very thankfull for response, especially from people with the same experience.

Sounds like you've been through much already, but I suspect you aren't the cause. If you check on YouTube (search P1610) you will see that others have this problem, they have even taken the trouble to post there. Also search Google for P1610 digitizer problems for more info there. Fujitsu is a good corp and we want to see them continue to innovate in the UMPC space. I'm sure they will step up to the plate until you are a satisfied customer. The digitizer in the P1610 has clearly been an issue and there is no reason why you should adjust your usage pattern or accept devalued re-sell potential. If you have to keep getting repairs or changing P1610s until you get one that works to your satisfaction then do it. Even Fujitsu would rather have you be a repeat customer rather than one who will not purchase another product from them.
