I saw other PS1 emulators on the apps, not just PSX4. I think there are 2 other PS emulators. My question is are both stable?

What do you mean by stable? Of course they're stable

psx4all - got good UI, but old code so many games are not compatible.
psx4m - for now it's in command line, but bonapart is working on UI(yes I know that we have UI from beli, but you can't change config for keys... for me it's useless). It's newer version of psx4all=more compatible with games and slightly faster.
pcsx - games are slow(even with OC to 1150Mhz), but very compatible. could be a good emu, but it needs a lot of work and nobody is working on it currently on maemo5 project(don't know about pandora).

Go for psx4m. Best psx emu available.

ps
Title of your thread sucks. It says nothing about it. You should name your problem in the title so without checking the thread users can know what's your problem is - remember that for the next time. It's really helpful.

I wouldnt bother to be honest - I wasted loads of time with this and the N64 emulator and gave up in the end - just too slow to be be playable for the majority of the games

Maybe you didn't know how to use options like fremeskip or cycle multi?

really? another question, after installing PSX4m I can't find it the icon for it. where can I find it?

also, is there a site to download the ISOs for PS games? I tried using pcsx then downloaded FF7 disc 1 from brothersoft, it failed because it didn't recognize the file as a PS game.

In plain psx4m you must use terminal. e.q:
Code:
cd iso_folder
psx4m -frameskip 6 -cyclemult 2 game_name.iso
or type:
Code:
psx4m -help
Or just wait for bonapart version with GUI, which is going to be announced in this thread:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=47904&page=189
Just don't spam the thread

is there a site to download the ISOs for PS games?
Google it. We do not provide warez links here.

downloaded FF7 disc 1 from brothersoft, it failed because it didn't recognize the file as a PS game.
Maybe it was in eboot format?psx4m doesn't support it. You must do a image of the original CD. E.g. iso, img, or bin format.

^now I know why my file didn't work. But still can't get the hang of using x terminal for playing games. can you guide me on how to use psx4m step-by-step? I know it's a big thing to ask, but I really have no idea. I'm a noob at this kind of things.

Let's say I want to load my .bin file in my folder under N900/psx

how do I do that?

merbentan, this one time I'll help you, but you should learn a little about linux commands. n900 is a great phone, but you have to gain knowledge to use it's full awesomeness

Let's say I want to load my .bin file in my folder under N900/psx
Start terminal by pressing 'X Terminal' icon in menu.
Then type:
Code:
cd MyDocs
(Of course end it with pushing enter to confirm)
to enter MyDocs a.k.a n900 'main' folder

Then type this to enter to psx folder:
Code:
cd psx
Now type this to start the emulator:
Code:
psx4m -runcd game_name.bin
You could apply frameskips and other options to increase preformance. How to do that? Type:
Code:
psx4m -help
to learn more about options.

Sadly I don't remember controls, because I'm using my ps3 pad to play

EDIT:
if u wait some time (i guess near 3 hours if fortune will help me) i'll publish friendly UI with latest psx4m
Yay!

The thread title reminded me of Magnets, how do they work?

Terribly sorry for this useless post.

I blame magnets and ICP.
