Share to Picasa or some other sharing site for images and videos. For sending non-multimedia, email is good.

Problem with file sharing is that few people have an account with <whatever it does the trick>. Email stinks, because of size limitations and spam. Bluetooth is slow. Chat is not supported, since there are millions of protocols.

What you need to consider is what the other party has available. If they have email, email. If they have YM, monorail (I think it works with YM). If they have none of these but have wifi, perhaps you should convince them to join a file sharing site, there are plenty out there.

Common ground.

considering how open those two protocols are, it isn't very surprising....

I know there is mms...but it cost....
Thanks!
maybe you should be more specific in describing what you're really looking for.

you don't want mms.
you don't want email.
you don't want file transfer via XMPP.

why not say what you need?

looks like its the best choice i have....thought there would be an application that is able to send photo directly to friends without having to post thru file sharing sites as some photos posted might be a little privacy LOL!

He already said MMS doesn't work for him. (Sounds like he's got no free MMS on his plan.)

I still don't get what's wrong with email (does something like GMail even still impose a filesize limitation? One that actually makes a difference for photo sharing?). If your friends have internet connectivity too you can use woof, though unless you get IPv6 IP addresses courtesy of your provider, they won't be able to connect to you when you're on 3G.

The best thing about Blackberry for me (or only good thing) is messanger. And one of the best things about blackberry messanger is the fact I can quickly send files to anyone. Amazing. Wish Nokia had this. Don't know why they don't but then again I don't know a lot about how technologies work but like to see useful tech. And it sure is useful.
