Hello there,
I have been puzzled by the following.
I can charge n900 only from a usb cord.
When i plug in either my wall charger or one of my car chargers i get nothing.

Has anyone experienced somethign like this?

I havnt taken my volt meter to all 3 of my chargers, but they should work since they work for my girlfriends phone..

and yes, they are nokia chargers with the right voltage and current.

any ideas?

Was my issue, even with the AC adapter provided by Nokia stop working, 3rd party car adapter used to work. usb-microusb pc connector stopped since last week. Sent it in for repair, they stated they repaired the charging port on the N900, should receive it back today.

Hi madmaze

This is a problem with many newer smartphones. It is due to old/cheap USB chargers not shorting the data pins as was mentioned. Since i see you are in Boston, i will tell you that i bought the $12 USB car charging adapter from Microcenter, and it comes with a microUSB cable and seems to work for charging.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
