I just updated my N900 to pr1.3 through the OVI suite, and as a result, had to reinstall all applications.

One app I couldn't reinstall is irreco, and it looks like it is no longer available in the repository. I know it is no longer developed and I should be using qtirreco instead, but the problem is that I've spend a lot of time on configuring several different remotes, and finding the right device codes to use, and I don't want to do everything from scratch again. And besides, I really like irreco.

Is there a way to download and install irreco for n900 again, and if not - to import all my settings and remotes from irreco to qtirreco?

OK, I discovered a solution...

It requires you do it from the terminal (command line Linux stuff, for those not in the know).

Use aptitude (If you don't have it, use sudo gainroot to apt-get install aptitude). Do an aptitude purge qtirreco, then aptitude install irreco. You might need to activate some of the extras repositories.

You might also have to rebuild your remotes.
