Amazon.co.uk have dropped the price of the N770 + Nokia LD-3W GPS unit. It's now at £139:

They're one of the few UK retailers with N700s in stock. The kit also includes car mount, 1GB memory card, car charger and the Navicore software. If you try and buy the N700 on its own from Amazon.co.uk, it'll cost you £156!

At that price it's a bargain. I've just ordered one. As an Amazon.co.uk reviewer says, get them while you can. They're around the same price as decent GPS units, and you're effectively getting the fun and functionality of an N770 thrown in.

The LD-3W GPS unit alone costs around £60. On eBay second-hand N770s sell for around £70, so my plan is to use the N770 for GPS/browsing/other stuff until the N900 comes out next year. Keep the GPS unit and sell the N770, meaning the GPS unit will have cost me £70. And I got to use an N770 while I was waiting.

That seems like good price :-) Few days ago I bought navigation kit for 89 EUR (=~£60) at expansys.com but it was one day offer only, then they raised price again but it is still not bad - http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=151567
Together with previous cheap N770 offer the price is similar. I wanted it mostly because of the hardware (GPS + N770 car holder + charger) so Navicore and spare 1GB MMC card is just a nice bonus :-)

Also I wonder if Navicore 2008 is in the works, last year they offered free upgrade for 2006 version for people who activated the product at the end of the year, see

The Expansys.com kit is showing up for UK users at £78 including tax. It seems to be exactly the same as that included with the Amazon.co.uk deal.

So you could say that the Amazon.co.uk deal gives you a 770 for £62. A full Internet-capable wifi computer for £62! Crazy.

One benefit for me is that the Navicore software can be installed on my old 6680 phone too, so I might be able to use that in the car and leave the N770 at home. Apparently it also works fine on an N800 should I decide to upgrade.

Can't emphasise enough that this is a terrific deal.

Although the software will work on the N800, you won't have the N800 car holder, which appears impossible to purchase unless with the N800 Navicore Navigation Kit.

I bought on a few days ago and i am severely impressed so far. I was looking for a sat nav device and i saw the N770 + navigator on Amazon for £135, and after reading some reviews a decided to buy it. The strange thing was Amazon were selling the N770 + Navigator for £135, but the N770 without Navigator for £160.

Got mine Saturday morning - well impressive little peice of kit. I'd been following the thread about these on Something Awful, but been dithering, but for this price I just had to have one.

If you could plug regular USB/SD cards into it it'd be practically perfect. Bummer that I've got about 10gigs of flash ram that I can't use with it.

Also, anyone know where to get a car charger for the 770 in the UK? Found some on ebay but they're all from HK and I'm not too keen. Does the GPS unit's charger work? Don't want to try it without knowing and have it blow up.

Yes you get a car charger with the Navigator. You also get a cradle for your N770, but i dont know if i like the idea of that being in the car all the tiime, even though my my N770 wouldnt be. Thives would break in on the off chance you have left your unit in the glove box. Maybe im just being paranoid
