My camera programs crash, too.
I started with a "vanilla" n900.
Installed Power Kernel 46.
Installed h-e-n.
Camera app crashes as soon as I open the lid. BlessN900 refuses to start.
Installed power kernel settings.
Still, neither Bless nor camera work.
/update:
Uninstalled h-e-n and i2c. Camera apps still refuse to work.
Do what now?

install enhanced kernel power46
install enhanced kernel power settings
reboot
then both OC and camera app should work fine.
