This may not seem that interesting at first but Phonegap which is also available to maemo allows developers to quickly migrate mobile apps from one platform to another, see this video

note about iphone sdk, is only available on mac

i will try to to update this thead with more relevant information as i continue to figure out more how to actually get this working... my battles at the moment is to get some of the appropriate sdk's installed,
including the maemo one which i have not yet figure out how to do it.
