My mate next door recently got a galaxy s and i was kinda hopin it would be crap. But now i'm thinkin of ditching my n900 and gettin one. The apps for android are so much better now. Things like Snap N Go which is just awsome and i'll bet we never get it, along with all there other stuff. I don't know if i'm speaking out of term here but whenever something good seems to be available for the n900 it either doesn't work or its too difficult to install What with needing a power kernel for otg which i want but ya kno... I'm not having a moan i'm just wondering if maemo will ever catch up thats all? When i visit another mate of mine he's like... "Man, have you seen the way my HD2 plays playstaion games via this PS3 controller...." yeh and its flawless by the way? So why when you overclock the n900 to 1G it doesn't even play N64 games? And don't say i does coz it just doesn't. Mario 64 and i think 1 other plays ok and the rest are s**t. PreEnv games are good but n900 doesn't support multitouch which makes most of them unplayable. Its not just the games its everything! The phone itself is as tempramental as my bird! The alarm sometimes doesn't go off which has made me late for work a few times and all the incoming call glitches that should have been fixed by now but haven't. It goes on and on and on.... Nokia in my eyes have always been top of the classroom but i think its flopped a bit. I believe the N8 compared to the N900 is even worse?? So i've been told. Anyhoo.. All that aside i do love my phone but i think unless all this stuff gets sorted i'll be trying something else
By the way, don't start avin a go at me coz i've ripped the n900, it is after all just a phone!

Well its time to ditch not *****. My recommendation: Desire Z.

But it isn't quite this easy for you is it? You just can't go out and get it, so you come here and vent?

So, now you have the realities and life can continue until you get the money to get something else. Thanks for stopping by!

It's not a phone, it's a pocket computer.

A few months ago I bought a HTC Desire, with the intention of selling the N900. The Andriod experience was underwhelming, the Desire was sold, and the rest is history.

The Nokia N900: When you absolutely, positively got to have true mobile computing - accept no substitutes.

I like having the latest shiny as much as anyone, but I'm holding off until a true replacement comes along. Even then, I will still keep my N900 as a testing/development device.

Sorry everyone, i spat my dummy out for a moment there? I guess i'm not worthy of the powers that be... the n900! I kno its more than just a phone. Its only because i love my phone so much that i get annoyed when somethin doesn't work. And i forgot to mention all the good points too. There is alot which i'd hate to be without. Again... sorry guys Love it really!

to see you comparing the n900 to an android phone is normal. Me too have an android device, (galaxy S) and yes when you look at the two, the android stands out.

in my case i am more comfortable using the n900 as an everyday tool for office and personal. example, in winter.........hahahahaha! cant even use my Galaxy S outside while my n900 responds on my touch and type even with gloves

as some of reviews said, the n900 looks like that it targets most of geeks and hackers, and not all phone users are like that.

android seems to do target end users, with the help of developers that are geeks and hackers
