This brings back memories. I kind of wish I still had some of my old computers. My family had a Spectrum like that (I can't remember if it was a 16k or 48k) when I was little, and then a Spectrum+ (the one with the plastic keyboard, then a Spectrum+2 with the built-in tape loader and a better keyboard. It definitely played a significant part in my childhood and introduced me to programming, although I never achieved much in the way of programs, aside from some that just did basic input and output.

ZX Spectrum 48K ... I had it too, but my first Mini PC was a Sinclair ZX80 ... We are in pre-history!

It's incredible isn't it? Although we don't have hover cars, silver tracksuits or robot butlers, the amount of science fiction that has become science fact is crazy...
A while back i spotted something interesting peeping out of a rubbish bag out on the street. On further investigation i found the bag contained pretty much every iteration of sinclair computer starting from the zx81 right up to the 128k+
Incidentally, you can still buy zx81s in kit form...

Apologies for the quality of the pics, my N95 had a dose of the blurrycams..
I wrote my first program on the spectrum 48k as a child, it was hangman. I can honestly say that computer shaped my life and is the reason I am the professional programmer I am today. Good job mom and dad! The N900 has introduced me to Linux, Qt, and MeeGo.. will it shape my future.. who knows!??
