Are there any apps about that do this? Just a small thing which simply reboots the phone, rather than having to switch off and switch on.

I know I'm lazy but it'd be a nice thing to have. I've searched everywhere and can't find anything.

(Even if it's a bigger App that does other things, but has a Reboot option would be great too).

Here you go. Not an app but rather a guide on enabling the reboot button in the power button menu.

There are instructions how to do this via Xterm so that a "reboot" option appears in the dropdown menu on the on/off button but they seemed so long winded to me I have never bother trying them out.

I agree an app we could download for us noob's would be a great option.

PS Beaten to the answer by a minute however this bit always put me off

"6) Create a backup copy of the systemui file by typing cp systemui.xml systemui.xml.bak (if things mess up i dont know how to use this backup to repair things)"

Not much point of making a backup if I didn't have a clue what to do with it if things went wrong??

or simply start your terminal gain root rights and type 'reboot', but you also may look into Queen Beacon Widget for a customizable graphical solution.

I did what "retsaw" proposes a long time ago.

It is a bit dangerous.

If you know what you are doing it is done very fast.

Once it works you have a "reboot" in Menu of the power button.

It works very well.
I use it every day for performance reasons.

As a poster says in that thread you usually want to do a reboot when somethings frozen your phone so Xterm reboot is not an option, but powerkey press reboot hopefully would be.

Given how easy an app would be to develope I would of thought it more benefical than some apps appearing on the forum recently. I would do it myself but I don't know where to even start!!

an app that sets the reboot button to your powerkey menu?

or an app you press like a shortcut on your desktop which then reboot your phone? if the latter, just use qbw? if the first, just do what they say and fix it so you have that button.
