Hi, wildt.
I use Knots 2 with Galaxy TAB(android tablet).
With default browser i can watch my dreambox chanel.
The problem with default browser is..that you can't switch transcoding profile! Just to switching profile i use Opera.

The key to watch streaming with knots 2 in android is to......use Flash in stock browser, so you must make custom Transcoding profile with:

Audio Format: aac
Video Format: FLV1
Mux: ffmpeg{mux=flv}
Stream Extension: flv

Video Encoder: x264{profile=baseline,level=1,keyint=120,bpyramid, chroma-me,me-range=8,ref=1,ratetol=1.0,8x8dct,mixed-refs,direct=auto,direct-8x8=-1,non-deterministic,scenecut=50}

You can make some test ..with audio,video bitrade and size of the picture...to suite youre taste.

I hope this help.

Thanks for the reply.

First off - I've got a slightly different tab (Archos 101) I'm not sure what you're pointing at with the stock browser - the stream itself or the knots web gui? As I said the latter is unscrollable for me, pointing it at the stream opens it in the Video Player (comes with the tab).

The video player doesn't support aac sound - and when I chose mp3 instead it just pre-loads to 100% and quits with no error msg.

If I try and use the crippled web gui I can get the embedded flash symbol, but nothing happens when I click it. As I said I can't scroll or click on any dropdown menus.

EDIT: Just changed the browsers setting to "always enable plugins" - and the flash/flow player started, but the framerate is simple horrible.

Yes you must leave Plugins "always".
You must experiment with settings. For me, maximum settings is
Audio bitrade: 128
Video bitrade: 768
Width: 640
Height: 360

It depends of the power of Procesor and optimization with embedded flash(flow) player.

Okay, those settings are waaay too low for me.

The stock N900 profile along with the android vplayer (on low quality setting) is sorta acceptable - but choosing a higher quality in vplayer and it starts to skip and lose a/v sync.

The built in player seems be able to play it smoothly, but theres a constant a/v sync problem (several seconds).

*shrugs* nothing is easy these days... *sigh*

Help! Been trying to get access to knots over the internet and it kept failing so I assumed it was a problem with SSL. I followed the instructions in the Wiki to enable SSL on my N900 and for some reason it failed. Not sure if they're outdated?
Anyway not sure if it's coincidence but now my headphone output has stopped working??

Here is what happened in xterm:

Not being proficient in xterm, how do I remove these packages which may have broken my N900?

Did a "apt-get remove libgnutls26 libgcrypt11 wget" and still nothing Not getting sounds from any music app through headphones but system sounds are working. Maybe something's broken on the decoders?

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't get the client on my N900 to connect via external WIFI or 3G. Also is there a way to get FLAC transcoded?
