Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will begin collaborating immediately on the design, development and sales/marketing of productivity solutions for the mobile professional, bringing Microsoft Office Mobile and Microsoft business communications, collaboration and device management software to Nokia’s Symbian devices.
Only mentions Symbian unfortunately.

If so... I called it. This move makes sense sense office document creation and editing on the fly is the next big thing to do.

Some Nokia spokesperson had said that CMD should have lots of announcements ready for us.

I also feel like it will be MS related, but nothing more than a more of a partnership announcement for business tools or similar.

EDIT: Here's the original source.

Nokia have said MeeGo won't be used for E-series devices, and including Microsoft Office software only with E-series devices would be consistent with Nokia's past E vs. N strategy.

Personally, I remain unconvinced of the benefit of the lines Nokia have drawn between E and N.

That's fine for me as long as I'm able to run a full OpenOffice installation or several spinoffs like KOffice or FreOffice at my MeeGo device.

The partnership was announced already in August 2009. At one point Nokia had a ton of job listings looking for people to do the development. Interestingly, the Microsoft counterpart of the deal was none other than Elop himself.

Yep. But that seemed to have stalled... just like a whole bunch of other initiatives.

I just hope this quells the whole "WE DON'T WANT NO STINKING WP7 ON MY NOKIA" hysterics around here.

Relax... you're getting true *.docx (and others) support.

Perhaps it'll stop all of the financial analysts from talking out their *** regarding MeeGo and allow the platform to develop normally. But that would simply hinder their ability to issue press releases and play with the stock price.

Relax... you're getting true *.docx (and others) support.
Ah, docx. The miracle format that proved that the ISO was truly broken.

Yes as long *** Microsoft use open document formats and dont implement theyr own **** :-@ problem is they have NEVER followed the standards not even theyr own : @

That makes it a problem for those who NOT want to use theyr apps...

Btw. Why the F*** do we want they own version of "PDF" as an example? whats wrong with PDF ? that already works on ALL platforms :@
