Answer: I don't know, but they don't have enough yet.

It isn't irony if I didn't waste my money on it. I'm still waiting to see if they'll make a better tablet before I move up from the N800, or at LEAST a better more computer-like handset instead of yet another me-too "smartphone".

Why don't you just get a Viliv N5 or any other x86 UMPC or tablet and slap a Linux on it? You could install WINE on it and really be ahead of the N800 (and N900). The N5 has a 1.3GHz CPU, 32GB SSD, 1GB ram, GPS, camera, and a 4.8" screen with 1024 x 600 resolution. I think it can even take a sim card and make phone calls! Come to think of it, why doesn't every N900 user get one of these too...![]()

Jane, you ignorant slut.
Sure, I could just go out and LITERALLY get a laptop that fits in my pocket but then it would very hot, it wouldn't last long on a charge and it's likely to make me sterile. And as much as you want to see me go sterile, I'd rather deny you that favor and instead buy the device I WANTED. A lightweight, hopefully open-source friendly device based on ARM/RISC where I wouldn't WANT to run WINE, because I didn't get Linux to run Windows.

I LOVE THE N900, I always thought it would be the first Meego device.

1. This is the year of the snowpocalypse. Getting very hot should be a selling point.
2. It's supposed to last up to six hours on a charge. That's been about the time between snow storms.
3. You have 2,767 posts on the maemo message board. That means your being sterile or not sadly will have no impact on your chances for reproduction.![]()

4. Aww, I played with Linux for 10 years and never found it worth the hard drive space. I tried to switch a few times in early 2010 when my XP install was screwed up but I was broken by the experience (curse all rolling distros!) and almost driven into the arms of Windows 7. I decided to give it one more chance, go to Distrowatch and starting from #1, find the highest-ranked distro I hadn't tried or heard bad things about. I installed OpenSUSE 11.3 as a test on July 18th, and I've been "testing" it without going back into XP since.Being able to run an old Windows 98-era game that was impossible to run stably under XP was a major selling point for me. In fact, it used to crash when I first played it under real Windows 98! I don't know what "angry birds" are like, but they sound nasty. I'd rather have classic Windows adventure games in my pocket.

All I want is 40 acres, a mule, and Xterm.
