I will start off by saying I am not a fan of Windows Mobile 7, at all. But I am very excited that it hit the market.

This is pretty obvious to everyone but the more OSes we have running on stable hardware the better! More competition, more choice, the end results is a better product to whatever fits your needs.

WM7 seems a lot like a demo to me, but it might have potential down the road.

iOS really hasn't come that far, they have the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch.

Android looks to be great, pretty flexible, Android is running in many phones, tablets, and even my TV has Android (Sony Google TV).

When Android was first released it was a neat platform, but is has grown by leaps and bounds very quickly. It is possible that might happen with WM7 (Microsoft has been wanting to do this for a while, look at what they tried to do with UMPC's)

I think the idea of iOS is going to be moving out soon and we will see a newer more "full computer like" version of Android moving in. And hopefully WM7 will compete, and I would love if Nokia joined the fight - but I am not holding my breath.

What do you all think?

I wouldn't mind trying the WM7 since am an open minded person, but many people already hate it simple because it's under the name of Microsoft...

If you read the press releases, you will see that they never mention Windows Phone 7, or WP7. They only say Windows Phone. This is certainly done on purpose.

Any way you see it, this is not a strategic move, it is a desperate maneuver to rescue Nokia from certain death. They may die anyway, but now they have a fighting chance. MeeGo and Symbian are both fine OS'es, but way to costly to maintain and develop both regarding money and time.

Qt may be excellent, but it doesn't help as long as the core OS'es are moving too slow.

Android is a death trap once ZTE and Huawei and God knows who else are getting up to speed for real.

It is a cry and shame, but it has happened. MeeGo, Symbian and Qt are excellent, but Nokia didn't manage to make it work nearly as efficient as needed. They almost broke their neck in the process, and may still die from the wounds.

I hope Nokia and MS will get some killer phones out there ASAP. Android and iPhone need the competition. Personally I don't like Android or iPhone, I would prefer MeeGo, but dead is dead

Not to embarrass anyone, just FYI:

In the US anyway, we say "crying shame", not "cry and shame". Good try, though.

Please don't get it wrong. The reason is not solely because it is under Microsoft. It is mostly because it is not open enough for most of us. That means, we are not in favour of pre-installed bloatware.

I can't remember a company that has partnered with Microsoft and come out the better for it.

I was trying to be helpful; if you don't want to learn, that's up to you.
