Just noticed on the Tableteer OS2008 page that Nokia is now saying the official release of OS2008 for the N800 will be sometime in December (bummer).

Anyone notice any weirdness with apt-get and sources.list?

Code:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 25 08:22 sources.list
What's up with a zero content sources.list? Where are repositories beng stored now?

That's still disappearing.
But actually I removed it at all. I don't turn the BT off as it will be automatically shut off when not in use (for what I've understood about the tablet's power save).

What about the battery life? Has anyone tested to see if it's increased, decreased, remained the same?

Can someone confirm this?

Kyyla, Thanks for finding that repository, I've added it, but I can't seem to install gpe because I'm missing libsoup2.2-8

Anyone know where I can find it?

Speaking of, the battery indicator has been improved.
It will better show how long your tablet will stay up by using it the way you've used it "so far".
If you're browsing a lot, you'll see it going down pretty fast and show you that it'll last few hours that way.

Almost as soon as you stop using it (or use it in a less aggressive way), the bar goes up to show you that it'll stay up longer.

I was first confused because I was using the tablet a lot and after a bit of time the bar was already lower than half!
But then I put it on the table (dinner) and when I next started using it again the bar was full again!

I can only love this behavior. OS2007 was almost always showing a full bar and going straight down to 1 level after some heavy usage.

It seems to me that it lasts longer than with OS2007.

There seems to be Chinook repository in that web-page but it's empty so maybe there's not working GPE for Chinook yet. Bora version doesn't work.
