The power Button wouldn't change the color. Only the small symbol near to it. It turns from grey to red if the communication fails and to green if the command was successful sent.

With Browser I mean the MicroB Webbrowser on your N900 which you're using to explore the Internet. Enter the IP adress of your DreamBox there to check if you are able to see the Webinterface. If it asks for a password you have to remove this password to get DreamRemote working. (but I don't know how to remove if it will ask for a password, it depends on your firmware and how you have set it)

Hope this helps!

When I enter the IP address in the Web Browser , nothing is loadingup, the screen is just BLANK.

I put the IP address in the browser, and it adds a / to the end of the address after the last number, and the screen is white

Okay, in this case you don't have a internet connection to your DreamBox. Please try it first on your PC and check if the Plugin is really running at your Box...

I can control the box using my laptop by putting the IP address in. However I am unable to use my phone.

In the settings, do I need to put something in the Port section, and also can you please confirm the Mode I should be using. I own a DM800 HD clone box

By default you don't have to use a special port. If you check the Box you are able to enter your own port. It must be the same as you have entered at your DreamBox. If you uncheck the Box it uses the default.

Please ensure to have a connection to the same network. (within the same w-lan)
Perhaps you could try to ping your pc from your phone. (enter ping and the IP Adress of your PC at the Terminal)

If you are not at the same Network (at example you use at the N900 GSM and your DM800HD uses W-Lan) I would say DreamRemote can't work. (because of some kind of firewall somewhere between... perhaps your own at your W-Lan Router, your ISP or Internet Provider)

I connect my N900 at home using a W-Lan connection to the Internet. And my Dreambox is connected to my router via a Network cable. If I loose the W-Lan connection DreamRemote is unable to reach the Box and so it is not working. (good, so I'm unable to bother my girlfriend while I'm at work - always by accident, but anyway) *g

By the way, what do you mean with the appendage "clone box" after DM800 HD?

Hi,

I am currently searching a way to control my Linux-VDR box, and maybe dreamremote can be extended to support it. I have searched for the sources, but in the source package I have found only the compiled .pyc files and the images. Where are available the sources ?

It means that the box was not manufactured by Dream Multimedia, but by one of the Chinese clone manufacturers. They function in the same way, but with some models (DM500/600) you have to be careful about which image you install, otherwise they can be bricked.

Sorry for my late reply. I had a very bussy week and several other projects I'm currently working on. But better a late and well done reply instead of a fast and meaningless.

Sadly the source is currently not aviable. But the good news for you is that I have tried to integrate support for your Linux-VDR box.
I just uploaded a new version to extra-devel. Please report if everything works as expected or if something is missing. You would need the "VDR-live" Plugin running. I don't know much about it, I don't have a Linux-VDR and I'm unable to test if it works! But I'm pretty sure. Enjoy!
