I can connect my N800 via VNC to a system within my network, but as soon as I touch to start or pick a program the screen I receive a 'connection to server lost' message.

I am doing nothing exotic, I just want to look up systems without leaving my armchair ! My N800 attaches to an AP which is linked into my home network over a switch, as are the other machines (i.e. I do not touch the router at all - everything happens in the 192.168 environment.
The machines I have tried run on Win 2000 and Win 2000 Server.
VNC is set up with the standard defaults (plus password).
VNC from the Win 2000 to the Server works perfect.
My N800 is from the German distribution.

What may I have forgotten ?
Thanks for the help

I don't have it installed now, but it worked for me going to an XP machine running TightVNC.

p.s. Do your servers support MS Remote Desktop connections, because there is an rdesktop client for N800 you might want to try instead.

Hi technut

The tip was good - I have changed to TightVNC (I have always used Real - for years). It works perfect !

I do use TS technology and therefore looked at rdesktop, I had trouble downloading/installing. I will revert to it later, for now the VNC is just what I need.

Thanks a lot
