Just a question i tried search but nothing came up, is it possible to run maemo on a completly diffrent decice, somthing like Samsung Galaxy S or the likes?

We have nitdriod and all these other OS's we can install so surely it would be possible for Maemo to run elsewhere?

Maemo... no. heheh.. God, no. Check out MeeGo.org's threads on such things. I know Lardman's successfully managed to get MeeGo to run on the Samsung made Nexus S (phone) and on our Samsung Galaxy Tab (Android tablet). Graphics (freedesktop.org) and all! I would imagine MeeGo would be FAR better to run than Maemo (Maemo is pretty much end-of-lifed and full of Nokia proprietary binaries anyway), and that the Galaxy Tab and Nexus S are both very much similar enough to the Galaxy S for you to inquire within Maemo.org about it. (i.e. http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/Hummingbird)

yeah i think the closest you will come to this is using cordia (meego core + maemo ui). maemo just has too many closed bits that would have to be rewritten from scratch for it to be portable.
