Ok I finally installed again after sending the gz file to a macbook, extracting, then transfered back to gngeo folder under MyDocs on N900, still the same screen, can't map the keys, where should be the folder conf\gngeorc? Can I change the key values and other parameters on Notes app of N900?

Within the tar archive, there is a folder called .gngeo (dor at the beginning), inside that folder there is a file called gngeorc. That folder should go to /home/user , not MyDocs, because gngeo emu expects to read it from there.
The directory extructure should be:
/home/user/.gngeo/gngeorc
that is why in my original intructions I made the package to extract at /home/user, not hold the emu at /home/user/MyDocs, just at /home/user/gngeo

Ok, I finally was able to remap keys (by installing Filebox and accessing the gngeo folder), but the screen size stays the same no matter how I change; scale 2 (don't use anything on ur gpx2) and scale 2x (on effects part), also on screen 320 true/false. I uninstalled xgngeo and am trying to uninstall gngeo on app manager to start again, but it says unable to uninstall 'gngeo' , then App Man close with a error 'Internal Error App Manager closed'. I tried on X-term 'root' , then 'apt-get remove gngeo' then 'y' hitted enter... It starts, then says 'dpkg: error processing gngeo (--remove) failed to delete media/mmc1/roms.dpkg-tmp read only file system Errors were encountered while processing: gngeo E: Subprocess usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) . Can anyone help?

Not sure about your problem, didn't experience it, seems related to the SD card on the phone, I do not have one.

trying to run metal slug i get "Unknow or unsupported romset".
started it with the following:
/home/user/gngeo/bin/gngeo --biospath=/home/user/MyDocs/Roms/Neogeo/bios --fullscreen --rompath=/home/user/MyDocs/Roms/Neogeo --romrc=/home/user/gngeo/share/gngeo/romrc --romrcdir=/home/user/gngeo/share/gngeo/romrc.d --sound mslug
tried also with mslug2 and got the same.
the roms there are in zip - is this ok?
