I just replaced my Linksys 802.11g router with a Trendnet 802.11n router. I have wireless access from my laptops and can access my wireless connected HP laser. My N800 does not see the new router. The Trendnet has 802.11b/g compatability as I have laptop and printer access which are all 802.11b/g. The N800 doesn't seem to have any parameters that I can change that are different from the previous router setup. Does anybody have any suggestions? The 802.11n connection is so much faster I would hate to revert to the Linksys.

I have the same problem with the Apple's AirportExtreme. What I do is switch the Channel setting from Auto to something low -- between 1 and 5.

I just replaced a Belkin Pre-n router with a Belkin N1. My N800 was connected to the internet just fine with the Pre-N and I had a hell of a time getting it to see the network, and then connect to the network. It turned out that my WPA-pre-shared key was either too long or had symbols in it that weren't read by the router, I guess, because when I removed the symbols and went with all letters and numbers it finally connected automatically. What tipped me off to this was a window that said, "Authentication failed." Try looking at and altering your security entries.

EDIT: I meant I had a hard time connecting with the N1.

In order to make things simple I didn't set up wep. It is a basic configuration with no bells and whistles. Surprisingly, the Trendnet Network Magic software sees a device but cannot identify it or the manufacturer. I will try changing the channel selection from auto to a lower number. Even though my laptops are visible to it.

Changed the channel to a lower number but no luck. Since I still have the old G router is there any way to connect two wireless access points to the same cable connection? I hate to give up the speed of the N and I love the N800.

Sure you can. Most routers are auto sensing, so you can take a standard ethernet cable and plug one side into the LAN port of your Linksys, and the other side into the LAN port on your Trendnet.

Be sure to adjust the channels so that each router is on a non-overlapping channel (1,6,11 in north america).
