Hi,

I have a question and I tried searching google and this forum but I couldn't find the thing I was looking for.

What I would like to do is to use TV-out without a cable. I want to have my n900's screen on my computers screen but then without using a cable. I don't want to stream a movie, but the screen image of the n900. I hope I explained myself right. Does anyone know whether this is possible? I am quite a noob with linux and programming, but I am learning

Sounds like you need x11vnc installed on your N900, then use a VNC client on your desktop PC to connect to it via WiFi. There's quite a few posts here about it, and also the Wiki...

@ f2thak

I want to stream what I am doing on the n900 to a computer; so if I am surfing on the web or playing a game than this should be visible on the computer's screen.

@ jedi

I will try to look into this. Do you maybe have a quick reference to have a quick start for me? Thanks.

Try to search for VNC.

I'm using Presence VNC on my N900 to view the screen from my Desktop. But the other way arround is also possible.

But what I have seen so far was not very polished. You'll need a VNC Server application at your N900. I used TightVNC on my Windows Desktop to interact with my N900. It worked very well except the password protection and it was to slow for my needs.

But it's worth a try! Hope this helps...

Why use VNC / FreeNX to stream to a TV from the N900? Just use the PC connected to the TV. Heh.

OP wants wireless video out. Not do stuff on his n900 from his computer. Anyway vlc can do this... but do we even have vlc?

Edit: yes. Here: http://download.videolan.org/videolan/maemo/vlc/

Edit2: even found some instructions: http://gerrymoth.co.uk/?p=278

and for streaming: http://nerdlogger.com/2008/01/08/str...deo-using-vlc/

No idea if any of that stuff actually works.
