I'm the author of the widget. I'm actually surprised to find this thread here -- when I pushed the package to the testing repository I didn't expect people to start using it without an announcement. This weekend I'll probably blog about it, then.
I've just promoted version 0.6; it should behave a bit better (and adds web navigation while configuring), but it's still very incomplete and buggy.
Unfortunately, the reason why the previous versions were failing most of the times was a bad configuration; this means that the new version might behave better only if you reconfigure your widgets.
Sorry for the disappointment, I'll try to put it in acceptable shape ASAP.
