It has some neat features, including acoustic/electric guitars, as well as a feature where you can see the chords and the lyrics of songs!

There is a JKK detailed video on youtube where he mentions that he would soon put up a video of how to root the Tab and how to do so. Or was it the demo of Spare Parts on the Tab? Come to think of it maybe it was the latter. Maybe wait at least till that video is out then you can see how easy it is and maybe get a sense of how risky.

I was also planning to get the Tab for my wife and then if I liked it one for myself. That was before the price gave me a punch in the face. If we had only one Tab I can imagine the wife would be very very angry if I messed around with the device. Especially after she saw me mess around with my N900 until I bricked it and could not do anything about it since my usb port was faulty.

Finished reading the first two parts of the Carrypad review. Reading the review but more so the comments section it is clear that he really loves the device (the review is very clean and objective and he leaves out any hint of bias - something Apple lovers are unable to do in any of their reviews). He sees it as the ultimate carrypad device - meeting all your mobile consumption needs in a portable (but not too small) form factor. Goes as far as saying he does not expect anything to overtake it for the whole of 2011. A rather brave statement but shows just how much he loves the Tab. I think I will definitely wait to see what HTC has to offer before jumping in especially with the Tab costing what it does.

For those in the UK looking for the Tab it seems Dixons/Curry's/PC World has the price to beat. £499 with no strings attached.

This is a great price and makes it very, very competitive with the iPad.

They talk about the Tab for the last 2/3's of the podcast. JKK also has some stories to share about his Tab. He also gushes about the complete addictiveness of the Tab.

Overall, it's an enjoyable listen and looks at the Tab from a bit of a different viewport as most testimony so far.

The podcast mentions some interesting thing:
1) It *does* charge via USB from a laptop, but it takes ~9 hours
2) JKK mentions that the reports of 4 hours of life is a blatant lie. Normal use he's getting ~15 hours (3G/WiFi/little more brightness) and it's with him constantly. He gets 10 hours really heavy use, or 20-30 hours on and off use.
3) Chippy wanted a better camera! JKK is cool with it.
4) They don't like the proprietary port! They want TV out NOW!
5) Video calling is a lie -- they haven't gotten it to work! I wonder if they've tried SIPDroid...
6) JKK tries firefox on the Tab (doesn't say anything more)

Bell Canada isn't getting left out of the Tab action! It seems that they've leaked their intentions to carry the Tab:

Some things to note:
- Indicated that it will have 16GB built-in memory. Some variants of the Tab ship with 2GB for some reason
- They also have an iPad data plan that matches Rogers. This may extend to the Tab (hopefully)

Now that I know it's carried on both networks, I'm going to have to compare each for coverage and quality!

Good lord! The Canadian Tab will probably be VERY expensive. Prices of the Tab all over the world have hovered around prices of the 3G iPad. Well, it seems that the 3G iPad costs $679CAD! So the Tab will likely cost around $649 here. After the 13% HST? $733.....

I'm still getting one.
