Yep, usually they put lots of crap on like the N95 I had which was terrible for battery life until I debranded it.
Apart from the APN details I can't see any branding at all even on the hardware there are no badges.

mine is through voda and from a voda store, apart from the 205 firmware code there is no other branding.

Its not so much what they put on their as to what they take off and disable.
Vodafone Disabled the ability to set MP3 files as ringtones on the Nokia 6630. Vodafone denied this but coincidently their own ringtones sold on their site were MP4 (which worked fine). Every other variant allowed MP3s fine.
They have also been known to disable Skype and other features that riveled their own.

flash 10.1 would resolve this issue. would also allow tvcatchup( basically freeview) to work also.
