Yeah, I think we can all agree, Nokia put failbots on this job.
Or maybe this was just designed as more incentive to upgrade to step 5 but it failed too quickly

Now they can only attempt to fix the job rather than design it right from the start.

It's hard to get too much reinforcement for a power plug. It's especially true for a power plug that someone might attempt to insert upside down (as opposed to the barrels plugs).

Just to confirm I have now received a replacement phone and the situation has been resolved.

I asked for, and received a Nexus One, as I have no confidence in the N900s right now. Maybe Nokia will fix the problems in the next model...

Thank you for everyone who assisted.

Are you on OcUk? I might do the same mate - all quite sad I had such expectations.

I just don't understand the delay. It takes hours to asses and then decide upon a replacement. What are they doing for the other 13 days!!!
Queuing with all the other phones sent for repair, obviously.

I don't know if I Hate to Love it

or

Love to Hate it.

But I would not want any other phone. I have no interest in the Nexus or any other Android Phone.

So I have to Love it when it's good and Hate it when it's irritating.

I think if Nokia was taking the bug fixes more seriously, I would be a lot happier. We should have got fixes much quicker. That would go a long way in Good Will to the customer. Nokia does not seem to be "on fire" to address issues, as evidenced by this thread.

Some people will fined it takes longer then others to fix your n900. This is because nokia have to order your part in and it will for some take a while to come in. They order a batch at a time. Nokia don’t like to keep a backlog of the high end mobiles parts in stock. If you wondering why apple are 300 times quicker then nokia in repairs, it’s because they only sell 1 phone and do keep backlogs of stock.

O and by the way I had to wait a month when my n95 was faulty. I waited for a little piece of plastic to come in. they ordered the part from Sydney which needed to come to Melbourne which is only 500miles away.

Ps: nokia don’t use mail they still use horses to deliver parts
