Not sure what criteria has been used to obtain that figure, but it may include bugs marked as duplicates. Most bugs nowadays have at least one duplicate due to new owners not searching, and thinking they're the first to find a bug...

Are you sure that's the case, or is this just another example of kneejerk negativity?

Could you not check it for yourself, or is it just another example of kneejerk fanboyism?

I don't know where the 500 number comes from, but for example, Maemo Official Platform Bug Jar 2010.05 includes fixed bugs

1635: submitted in 2007, and still not fixed - I can't connect to eduroam with my N900.

3659: submitted in 2008.

4579: Submitted in May 2009.

Here's a suggestion: read through this entire thread and accuse me of "fanboyism".

Read my blog articles on the microUSB issue and accuse me of "fanboyism".

That's merely a naive assessment from someone who does nothing in this forum but gripe without purpose.

If you have nothing to contribute on this subject, troll elsewhere.

Let me first say, thanx for the help in this thread and all the other threads you've done great stuff in. Bravo! Kudos! Citations!

Now, kneejerk negativity? You know better than that.

All the Tar and Feathers on Nokia is WELL earned and Justified. They are jsut plain clueless and inept here. This thread is evidence of it. I can't believe they didn't have port failures on the "FREE" phones. A lot of them. "Supposedly" this was addressed, ohh well, we see where that has got us.

Why can't we have the basic phone functionality that comes on a "Free" phone on a $25/month phone contract? On and On, the screwups on this device match it's brilliance, step for step.

It is brilliant, no doubt about it.

I had to spend $500 to find a Bluetooth headset that would be usable?? The BT headset that was bundled with the original NOKIA website deal had to be taken back because it wouldn't work with their own Phone! The level of idiocy here is epoch! Who does their freakin' QC? It seems they don't have one of THOSE departments.

Sorry to turn this into a Nokia rant thread, but your comments and defense of this inept company hit my button.

So Much Potential...
Yet
So Much Ineptitude...

I see colors where some see black and white.

EDIT: I'm also curious as to how/where you extrapolated "defense of the company".

1) Your all the bugs that were fixed comment, when it's obvious to most everybody else that fixed in Maemo 6 is BS
2) Knee jerk negativity comment. I've seen very little complained about that is undeserved. This thread for instance, should not exist. Nokia knew of this problem before it released the phone.

Presently, I don't think much of Finnish engineering. Perhaps they should hire some Germans!

That's what Harley-Davidson did. They called Porsche. Then we got the Evo and Twin Cam engines.

1) I never said all bugs were fixed. Please read more carefully.

2) The kneejerk remark was directed at a specific user for a specific reason. Neither you nor anyone else was implied.

You are pulling in way too many things around what I say, whereas I am being very, very specific.
