Having an API to control these will issue in a new way of interacting with your device! AMAZING!
It's worth noting that the Galaxy Tab has a 3-axis gyro and accelerometer. It's nice to know that an API will simplify this for developer --> more apps using this tech.

Wow, what a great talk on Sensor Fusion, that is to be included in Gingerbread. It's really a powerful toolkit for eliminating the mire that is processing accelerometer data in an easy, useful, and accurate way!
Expect to see MANY applications that take advantage of these sensors in the near future. I wonder how other OSs expose this data to developers?

Short of having a Tab in my hand to sit down and compare but I am fascinated by the series of comparison photos here with the Streak.

Bearing in mind that the Streak fits comfortably in my pockets including shirt pocket and especially rear jeans pocket when walking, I am intrigued by the viewable information on the two screens.
Android Market Apps in both landscape and portrait mode: There is more information on the Streak, the Tab is just bigger and more spaced out.
Webpage landscape more: the Tab displays 3 more lines. At least if i squint at the enlarged image that how I count it - happy to be corrected though.
I shall be very interested to read Jenn’s more detailed comparisons in due course but so far the Streak doesn’t seem to suffer much disadvantage in use and has a huge advantage in portability.
Self evidently I would expect photos and videos to be much better on the Tab.

This mirrors my intuition exactly. We're not at the point that a Tab can replace a laptop for all tasks, but it seems to replace 90% of common tasks quite well and does it better than a smartphone due to the comfortable and more dense screen. As such, it's an excellent compliment to the laptop/netbook for quick access when a larger laptop is a bit too much -- 90% of the time.

Oh, and I totally called it! I mentioned some pages back that the Tab would make feature phones much attractive, which is a sentiment represented nigh verbatim in the Fortune article.
With a Tab, a feature phone or Bluetooth handset becomes much more attractive than a full fledged smartphone. Keep the Tab in your bag, and a truly TINY handset in your pocket to take/make calls on-the-go. A similar thing can be done with a BT headset if you set the Tab to ring.
BT handsets are a market rarity, but hopefully we see more of them soon. The Galaxy Tab stylus apparently does double duty as a handset for those that don't mind talking into their pens (ie. me)
The best part is, that you needn't sacrifice device usability in this case. You can still tweet, surf, game, etc, on a comfortably sized screen and maintain the 'phone' function of your smartphone with *less* space taken up in the pocket. The downside is that you need a bag to comfortably carry the device -- less of a concern for certain occasions.
I would love to see a diminutive (and stylish) sling/sash bag that could hold the Tab and little else!

Here's an iFixit teardown of the Galaxy Tab!

I rather like this. It shows how easy it is to get to the battery if you have the right tools (tri-wing screws and a small pry-bar). I'm no longer worried about changing the battery. While you're not going to be changing the battery on the road, it's still nice to know that you can get an aftermarket battery to replace the old one for presumably less than it would cost to take it to a service centre, and a much lower time requirement as well.

If this is just your opinion then it runs contrary to mine and who cares anyway. However, if you can demonstrate that it is true then you have just ruined my day.

However there are those numerous occasions when a bag is not appropriate and I travel light with some cash in one pocket and the phone in another. So I have to say that as an all round portable pocketable device then for me the Streak wins hands down.
I can envisage many scenarios when a 7” would be preferable, but they are not sufficiently prevalent to justify my having both a 5” and a 7” phone.
A future 7” device will no doubt provoke sufficient techno lust that my rational decision making will fly out the window but the Samsung Tab is not that device.
