Just saying, to let You know that Your work is missed.

Thanks, it is nice to be missed . I have just been on time off and didn't find any time to programme, because I had to play with my new toys a bit (Pentax K5, Dell U2711, BB Bold 9900 just to name a few ;-), the new BB doesn't have UMA , which is a major set-back for me).

Anyway, back to work and should find some more motivation for programming and pushing out a new version of faicrack, which was almost ready three weeks ago before my little distractions. Been looking into the repos/garage and am completely lost .

for people, that still have problem with fAircrack icon not showing - just edit Your faircrack.desktop file, change "icon" line to:
Code:
Icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/faircrack.png
It may be little ugly way, but at least it works for 100%

Finally, I got the right icon showing. This had been bugging me for almost the whole period of this thread. Do you know where the wrong icon is located (ie. what the default location is if it is not /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/)?

is there a guide explaining exactly how capture a wpa handshake anywhere?

after starting packet capture on wpa, i can see that its collecting beacons, and ive left this running for over an hour as i believe eventually you should get a handshake in the top right of the packet capture xterm window?

in exoeriece to other people who have managed it, how long does it usually take to get a handshake?

Without "help" it is not predictable (ie. it depends on whenever somebody logs onto the access point). However, if the dauth is succesful, it should be instantaneous, since the deauth'ed client will repeatedly initiate the handshaking while it is being deauth'ed (that is the theory). Succesful deauth and capture of handshake depends on the the type of AP and how close you are to the AP (as per aircrack-ng website).

Hehe, same here. I promised myself to get into it someday, but, yesterday, while fixing broken .desktop for Slingshot, I noticed that icon can be anywhere on the phone (well, haven't tried MyDocs vfat...), just need correct absolute path in .desktop. So, I've fixed every broken icon in my home - fAircrack was first

Icon is of course located @ /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/faircrack.png (if one followed initial fAircrack 3.0 install instructions, + applied Your updates)
. Unfortunately, I've no idea where it should be placed, to allow automatic detection with only filename provided in .desktop (without extension or path). I've examined, how other packages do it, and it seems every one got favorite place Some even got multiple symlinking in many icon folders... Anyway, Maybe .png must be exported in some specific way?

Despite trying, I was not able to get icon working with "shortcut" name, but absolute path is absolutely ok for me

Ok, the other way is adding the following line to the desktop file:

X-Icon-path=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon

Yea, also noticed it in other .desktop file. I just wonder what path is used as default *without* adding such line...
