A slight delay was announced: Shipping should start early December instead of late November.

Where did you read that?

I found this on the forums: Posted November 4th
http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showtopic=45096

They are shipping panels as they become available, and they will fill out the entire order. However, they will probably not fill the entire order by the end of this month. They may not have it filled by the end of next month. Yes, that means some people might not get their Pandoras until next year. It sucks, but like I said, there is nothing that can be done.

That was totally unexpected.

It's in the re-order mail, somebody posted yesterday.
Qole, that's not fair(but funny )
It's pretty exciting, to see the project evolving(the numerous delays included) It's the first and maybe last time, the users have got so much insight on the development of a handheld. If there aren't any major flaws, it will get a fair market-share. Next year there will be announced some ARM netbooks and I'm sure that the Pandora will be mentioned several times in that context. Actually, I'm pretty hopeful that things will play out well for the Pandora. They're being specific about the cause of the delays, and the delays are in weeks, not months, and those are good signs...

I'm just jealous. Ignore me.

Yep, as derhorst said, it was in that re-order mail. It's not worrying me at all at this point.

I've asked ED today on the German board and he said, that it is just a minimal delay, if they get the assembled Pandoras end of november it just might be possible that they are delivered a little later, because the delivery itself takes time.
And btw Craig offered new developer units to devs who want to work on applications or the kernel. Might be interesting for some of you.

From the openpandora.org website:

"So, here is a mini-roadmap:
* Case Design: January 15th
* Case Prototyping: approx. 1-2 weeks later
* Final production and delivery: approx. 2 - 4 weeks later

2009 will surely be the year of the Pandora. "

Is the case design changing? (If so, why?) Or is this a case - as many of us predicted - of a largely hyped endeavour from a small band of people not being able to meet demand/expectations?
