i've read this post, but i don't know where to get e2fsprogs and the last sentence i don't know how to do (Then mount your /dev/mmcblk0p3 device to /opt, untar your Android OS to /opt, umount /opt)...
what is meant by "/opt"?

if you use gnome in linux...try GParted. It doesn't require command line. Just install it ->select your internal disk-> unmount it-> set up 3 partitions (with the first being Fat, the next being anything, and the final being ext3) -> apply -> then format the partitions.-> apply changes.

You can mount the ext3 partition anywhere you want to. I used /mnt per the instructions on NITdroid homepage linked to in the first post.

Also, don't forget that you need to be root when you extract the files into the ext3 partition. Sudo didn't work for me. I had to Sudo su (which isn't usually recommended, but it wasn't really dangerous in this situation) and then extracted the files.

Okay, the possible cause for the not working kernel for 770 is probably that the LCD controller is not an Epson Blizzard (S1D13744/S1D13745), but a S1D13742 controller.

Luckily there's an OSS driver, I'll try to compile it.

EDIT: It compiles, but has wrong header and the configuration executable doesn't support 770... So does anyone know where to find S1D13742.h with defines for 770's LCD controller?

EDITx2: No need, its actually called hwa742 in the kernel config...

Great job!
Waiting for the bootmenu

My Wifi scans and connects properly, but I can't use the internet at all.
It just says that web page not available.
I can even ping my NITdroid from my computer.
Anyone else having this problem?

Also, how do I get Maemo back running without reflashing?
Also also, how do I turn it off? There doesn't seem to be any kind of power off button anywhere. The button top of the NIT doesn't work either.

And some more problems.
When I try to boot with my another MMC, it doesn't boot at all. Doesn't even show the NITdroid boot image. And when I take the MMC out, it boots just fine.

@Solca: Can you attach here or post on your site your 770 .config (and any specific kernel patches if you have)?

@Sevanteri

download the original diablo kernel and flash it like you flashed the android one.

Only way to turn it off is to use ADB (android debug bridge) from linux computer or pull off battery.

And yes, nitdroid does not boot if ext-card is inserted.

Like someone else mentioned here, I connect to my WIFI network but can't get to any web pages. I can ping it from my personal PC. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can use PPP through USB using the ADB. Look at them acronyms fly!

In other news, the aKeyUI app works, so there is virtual keyboard support for N800!
The unofficial market apps work, but is there any way to put on the real market?
