It work.

How can I disable RD mode on this proto?
How can I find the root password in normal mode?

Hold on, don't install the password reset deb.

Instead, just run "passwd root" after using "sudo gainroot"

Also, that task switcher button looks very familiar.

I want to copy of the root filesystem with this command line:

tar cvpzf /home/user/MyDocs/backup.tgz --exclude=/home/user/MyDocs/backup.tgz --exclude=/lost+found /

Here is the result:

Doesn't work! why?

Don't put a space between -- and extract.

It's "--extract="

And remove the "--" at the end.

n950, you are typing the command incorrectly hence the issue...

There is no space between -- & exclude also you don't complete the command as you paste...

Code:
tar cvpzf /home/user/MyDocs/backup.tgz --exclude=/home/user/MyDocs/backup.tgz --exclude=/lost+found /
Just copy paste it otherwise all into one line...

This looks more as fremantle than harmattan...
I guess turning of RD mode should be done with one of the flashers, just try out.

Doesn't work!
Is it exclude or extract?

I try WinFlasher_3.12.1
with the command:
"flasher --disable-rd-mode"

doesn't work at startup.

Perhaps it's because this proto is not harmattan.

How to disable RD mode in fremantle?
