Well shucks!

Okay, what about this site?
http://www.wordtwist.org/init.php

This game is actually very entertaining as well since it's loaded with statistics and features.

However, the issue I'm having with this site is that dragging the stylus over the letters to form words, it stops after only two of them.

It happens with Microb as well.

Any possible setting I can change on the tablet for this to work?

Thanks Bundyo!

Unfortunately this one relies on hovers to mark the letters, couldn't get it to mark more than two either on N800, N900 or on my eee touchscreen regardless of browser.

Double shucks! *lol*

Well, is it possible to launch Tear to a specific X,Y coordinate?

What I mean by this is to have the viewing area in Tear fixed at a certain spot on the screen.

If I rotate the screen and moved that webpage up and to the left, that might work okay.

It takes too long to move the screen manually, and for some reason, I can't seem to move it up and down.

This way, it would give some extra room where I could make a new Xkbd keyboard on the bottom of the screen to type the letters instead.

So yeah, any ideas from you on how to best play this on a N800 without a BT keyboard would be awesome.

I need my word fix on the tablet.

I'm tired of playing Scramble 2 on the wife's Iphone (and so is she).

It is a pity Tear is no longer maintained by it's authors, having still so many bugs.
Fortunately, there is somebody that is working on making it usable. I found it by chance in another unrelated thread, so I'm bringing it here:

Thanks for making that clear :-)

I thought I'd seen something like that while skimming through the "Telescope" thread, but wasn't sure. Shows why thread-jacking is bad ! :-)

Thanks for the heads up on the Tear update... I too saw it in the TScope thread and then couldn't remember where it was....

Are you sure Tear is no longer being maintained? I seem to have seen Bundyo in this thread fairly recently...

Yup, I'm here. I'm currently working on something else and even for it I have very little time. However I plan on returning on Tear later.

I didn't see any source for this improvement package though, so I can't tell what it does exactly.

some set of patches would have been nice indeed. Until then i am holding back installing as i know neither the creator nor the forum and its community.

This is a pretty good example of development for the N900 and ultimately, perhaps, Linux. Since many awesome projects are maintained by people who don't get paid for that particular project and since we all have to eat, projects are never quite finished. Or for the N900, they never really achieve a usable state. It's a damn shame.

The story about "not having time for this project now, since my life is crazy busy" seems to be the prevailing one and I've taken it as meaning "since I gotta do stuff that puts food on the table".

Thanks to every open source developer though, for your efforts! I understand perfectly the difficulties associated with doing free, unpaid work.

Yea, I beginning to believe that this style of development will not survive or will never be competitor to commercial world. I am also impressed the scale of this whole party and how many people here keep trying hard apart of what angry and frustrated customers saying about their work.

But at least maybe some donate button beside each application could help to keep their work up
