I am a beginner and really love the N900, but I hate the fact that when I download apps they are not always easy to find. I just downloaded the 3G/2G Applet and I cannot even find it.

By the way the Bluetooth can be set to connect manually only. It uses loads of power as well.

Either:

1. Press your power button (1 quick press)

or

2. Press the clock/status bar on your screen

so... thanks for your contribution? it was rather insightful and helpful. being unhappy with your purchase sometimes goes hand-in-hand with a new item.

nothing iPhone related in that.

It's probably in status bar menu.

So, now we have too many newbie posting trolling posts and threads here
I'm sure there are ten times as many users who didn't do enough research and didn't know what the device was designed for and what should be expected who are NOT posting here, and that Nokia is happy to have their money.

not a "hate", but it sure would have been to have a bio lock (like a thumb print scanner to unlock it), maybe on the right side of the screen, but i doubt we'll ever see something like that on a mobile.

Man its a great device , but common WHY such a cheap plasticy kickstand????

The capabilities of the n900 are great anyway and the exterior design is in my opinion (despite the weight if one counts that into design..) solid, very solid, which is good for me cause i already dropped it from about 140 cm on the plaster in the street. Nothing happened despite some scratches in the plastic surface, glad i had a 3M screen protector on it.

But WHY now there is that f*in little plastic kick stand that has the same build quality as a coffee stirrer around my 5MP carl zeiss cam? I wish there where nice magnesia/aluminum/or any lightweight metal alloy replacements on the web which would not bend upon touching the screen for clicking on a new youtube vid....guess it'll never happen though.

But...If i find something i will post it

I hate the fact that the Mugen extended battery still isn't available.

alarm volume.
can't save messages to drafts
if u open notes, the one u were writing last shows up. either save it, or discard it.
can't send songs via bluetooth.
battery life. what a downer! and i don't even use the Internet.
the "apps" created. no sms import from other phones, and the software available is worse than my sex life.
camera. rubbish, all the way. probably the worst 5 mp cam. definitely the worst video recording cam for a 5 mp.
no real games. the ones i got here were shitty.

I think the plastic is some high tech material similar to that used on Canon 7D housing but I agree it sure does look cheap and nasty.

2 thoughts:

If it really is a cheap and nasty material - what the hell were they thinking?

If it is a modern engineered plastic - why the hell don't they mention it their marketing?

Either way it appears to be an afterthought!
