does hardware acceleration reduce batterylife?

Hi there, got some questions...

I recently flashed my n900, installed cssu, and this patch (with all the indications from the first page)- using default profile, VDD1&2 enabled, powersave_bias-20. this is my 3rd day in a row with moderate usage - about 45 outbound minutes and 20 minutes inbound. nokia messaging with all time syncing email accounts, too.
When i go in conky i get 55% left in battery, when i go in xterminal for grep-ing battery percentage there are 2 values - 21% and 55%, also i get 2 values in grep-ing remaining time - 3600 vs 26700.
Where did I go wrong? or..which one is the true value?

However, this patch by karam did improve my phone, thanking again, though.
