- the string (%1 timeout) in cell id and WLAN time-out would IMO be better as (%1s timeout) (seconds).
- the header in the popup for Set Bluetooth mode is not translated.
- Default snooze in alarm snooze setting is not translated.

Maybe the biggest thing:

- DefaultRule is not translated and I think it should be because it is referred to in other translations.
I have updated the beta (and Transifex source), and all the items quoted above should be fixed. Thank you for reporting, these are really good finds. And if anyone else finds similar stuff please let me know. Also places where it's hard to understand the context, so that I can add some comment for translators so that it's easier to do the translation without testing with the application.

NOTICE ALL TRANSLATORS: due to the fixes there will be some items that need to be updated in your translation even if you had 100% coverage previously!

- toggle NFC has to be pressed twice for the description to change.
I could not reproduce this. Can you try again with the new beta and let me know if this is still an issue.

- the header in calendar condition summary field is a little short.
Perhaps, but it seems to me it'd look silly if the header went beyond one line. Could the translation be shortened, for example "Vertaa kalenterin "yhteenveto" -kenttään" etc.? Differing opinions are of course welcome on that, and it shouldn't be hard to allow header to be several lines - just seems messy to me.

Anyway, this is the only translation I can really comment on, and it seems superb. I was really struggling when I tried to do finnish translation, but everything here just seems natural and flows well. Thank you.

Yes, they seem to be fixed.

I found a couple more:

- In the 'about' -section at least the close button should be translated but I'm not sure about the rest.
- In the alarm action the time to alarm 'Not set' -string is not translated.

Works fine now.

I kind of regretted even mentioning this, since I agree it wouldn't look good. I changed it.

Thanks. I've done a few of these and they get easier each time. I actually don't like software in finnish and tend to use the english version when available, but maybe this will help someone else.

Thanks. I have updated the beta and the source translation at transifex.

I forgot to mention a small glitch in finnish translation I noticed:
there's a space in the source before text in some strings that is not in finnish translation, which will cause weird translations in Edit Rule view. For example:
- Solujen id:t määritetty(50 viive)
- Soitto(60%)

This might be more my mistake on insisting having that space in translation, but I'm still a bit unsure how much different translations need wiggle room here.

If you're wondering about About dialog's copyright string. I left it on purpose untranslateable as I read somewhere that copyrights should not be translated. Might be my misunderstanding also.

The second thing is about the credits for translations - I'm still unsure about that. It may be I will put it as translateable string down the line, but at least for now as the final contents are changing so much it doesn't seem to make sense.

That's exactly my problem. Like you I don't like to use software in finnish, so I'm getting totally stuck trying to figure out what's the correct finnish term to use for technical terms.

am thinking about installing next release just for these features:

1) the 4% battery-drop
I read the post about 4% and wonder why this - Condition: Battery Level, min 0, max 8
Wouldn't this cause a loop of script recalling when <8%? Why not exactly 4%?
From what I know, I'd set it to 4% and ignore everything above or below... what works best?

2) restrict cellular mode to 2G when at home (good signal here)
... this is to save battery, because 3G drains more, right?)
How can I make shure I switch to 2g only when at home without the need to be connected to my WLAN permanently?
I suspect if I use location based conditions (cell tower id), the places in close neighbourhood (around the next few blocks in town) will give me 2G only?
Can conditions like (WLAN) and (cell tower id) be combined to result something?
Is there a possibility for periodical check of (WLAN)?

3) disable smartsearch
Could the start of smartsearch background process be tied to opening search app (and stop at closing search app)?
This does not affect indexing for copied content like media etc, right?

It won't cause a loop, because custom action is executed only when rule changes state from inactive to active. And that's exactly why it's a range, so that it will be executed only once when the level drops under some level.

It's 8% because the bug usually is a big drop. Ie. from somewhere around 20% a sudden drop to 4%. Having it as 4% in the rule probably works just as well.

That should be true.

How can I make shure I switch to 2g only when at home without the need to be connected to my WLAN permanently?
Cell tower location. There's no other way in ProfileMatic. Or then use WLAN only to detect you've come home, make PM switch to 2g, and use some other rule to detect you're out of home and change back to 3g.

I suspect if I use location based conditions (cell tower id), the places in close neighbourhood (around the next few blocks in town) will give me 2G only?
That's possible.

Yes. Combining them into same rule means both conditions must match.

Is there a possibility for periodical check of (WLAN)?
Availability WLAN is checked every 5 minutes. This is platform feature.

3) disable smartsearch

There is no conditions to enable that in ProfileMatic.

I was wondering about that. It's almost impossible to see the preceding or following spaces in the transifex editor, so maybe add a note to these strings?

That's why I wasn't sure what was intentional and what was not. It seems that the license shouldn't be translated but there are unofficial translations around. It doesn't really make any difference to the user, so I'd forget about it.

Yes, I have added now a comment to all those kinds of strings that I could find. I found some during the same search that were not translateable. Transifex is updated.

If you or anyone else comes across some translation strings that are hard to understand what the context is, let me know the place, and I will add some comment that hopefully helps translators in their work.

Ok, the finnish translation is up to date, I think. Were there any such strings outside of QmlRuleUtil?

The transifex editor is really annoying with these "invisible" spaces. It simply won't show them and if I try to copy&paste the original string, it still doesn't add the original spaces. Only pressing the "copy source string"-button copies the spaces, too. Also, the comments aren't line-wrapped and get cut with no apparent way of seeing them.

QtLinguist shows everything properly but even that doesn't warn about the missing spaces. There isn't a validation test for that.

QmlRuleUtil and QmlRulesModel were the only ones I found something with spaces before or after the strings (that matter).

I am interested in any ideas how to make this easier. One obvious choise would be to move the " " spaces to code, and not be in the translateable strings. This should probably work fine for western languages at least.

I think for the moment the chinese translation is the most different from western languages. Would such a change be ok there? If anyone in the chinese translation would care to comment that'd be great. Or anyone else for that matter who has experience with non-western languages.
