Past the fact you bought a device expecting things that were never announced to be made available to be added later...

I really hate this attitude on these forums, it's the kind of negativity and elitism that does not make me proud to be an N900 owner.

This debate has repeated tens and hundreds of times, so I think we must agree to disagree.

I don't expect, I only hope.

MMS what do you want that for ???
Use gmail or another mail client

IF you realy want mms then use fmms its just fine and does what it suposed to do.

About a release date on 1.2 hmm does it matter when it arieves ? the Tablet works just fine as it is ..

Just be happy about what you have couse you dont know what you get.
and remember that N900 are the best freaking tablet(phone) out there.
I havnt seen ANY other tablet(phone) out there that does Xvid , Divx ,Flash , or what ever . out of the box. Without converting files.

Sorry for my bad english ( iam from denmark ).

It is simple really:

1. Person buys device thinking it is like an S60 smart phone ignoring the specifications or attributing missing features to "omissions" or "will be added later (even faced with official documentation to the contrary).
2. Uses device and realises that the idea of what it does is vastly different from what it really does (and, shock horror, reflects the official specifications and announcements).
3. Comes to the Maemo community site and *****es about missing features.
4. Joins a crapload of similar threads started by people who did the same, thinking that if they complain enough on Maemo.org they will make Nokia change the device for them.

If pointing out the bloody obvious is elitist, I don't care. That is not an insult to me anyway. In any event, there is nothing to "agree to disagree" over; the features available and the device's limitations were made public from the beginning.

Don't forget a lot of Maemo is open source. Nokia isn't fixing all the problems. Some fixes are done upstream, other fixed by Nokia and sent upstream so Linux desktop distros benefit as well. This is very different than almost any device OS out right now.

maybe no more pr1.2, maybe it will be meego 1,which maybe will come on may starts, maybe they figured out how to put meego on n900 thats why pr1.2 is not coming out, have you noticed its been 2 months since they released pr1.1.1 which they said its a preparatory release for pr1.2,,,so why if thats the case why its taking so long for pr1.2 to be released..remember pr1.1 they also release preparatory release before it was roled out (with in days only,,so why pr1.2 is taking so long then??)..anyways this on ly MAYBE,,my MAYBE's
