Hi. When the N8x0 is performing normally, is it possible to do some kind of "apt-get dist-upgrade" in order to get the updates installed instead of reflashing and losing all settings, not saved data,... ?

You may lose applications if they aren't installable through the package system, but once you reinstall them you should still have any settings. You will also lose any customisations you make to system files, but most people whont have those.

and Maemo Mapper can't even talk to the GPS at all (the GPS icon will flash on and off sometimes, and Mapper says that it can't find the GPS).
