the alarm sounded after four minutes even though the n800 was powered down. touched snooze and a second dialogue came up asking if i wanted to switch on the device - "ok" or "cancel". alarm is still active, as per the red time numerals.

another idea would be for the alarm to start the calendar and show the today page (but, basically start any program) whether the user hits cancel or snooze.

i notice if the alarm display is ignored the alarm stops after some number of rings. it will not ring again and eventually the time numerals change from red to the colour picked for the display. if hours can go by, with the alarm notice "cancel" "snooze" continuing to display. so even though the numeral have changed and the alarm is apparently 'off', when "snooze " is touched the display goes away and in a few seconds the numerals change to red and the alarm is reset for a four minute snooze, after which the time alarm rings again. perhaps it would be better if the snooze function continued to ring the alarm every four minutes instead. or maybe the alarm should ring every minute until snooze or cancel is pressed.

I can't get the settings to persist. I change the font and color, and set it to 24 hour display, but every time it reboots, it reverts to the default settings.

sgosnell,

If you aren't already running it, install version 0.5 from my garage page. The versions before that had issues with remembering settings between boots.

If you are already running 0.5 try removing .statusbar_clock.rc from your home directory and redoing the settings.

Let me know if any of these things work.

OK, I'll check. I can't remember offhand the version I'm using, but it was the latest I saw posted, the one that stacks the minutes and am/pm. I don't have my tablet handy at the moment to verify anything.

Deleting .statusbarclock.rc seems to have fixed the problem. I had .5 installed but it wouldn't retain the settings until I deleted the file.

Good to know what fixed it. Maybe the file got corrupted somehow.

Thanks a lot for this clock. I wonder why this isn't on the statusbar by default and we have this silly desktop applet instead.

+1

- there's *lots* broken in the intuitive-gui dept on the current ITOS os2008... thanks to at least one developer (OP in this thread), we can enjoy some sanity of use and functionality on the internet tablet... (e.g., 24-hour mode for non-24hr regions)

- this statusbar clock gets my vote for NIT 'must-have' software of the year...

:-)
