I can come here to whine, but I do not know how to code an OS!

That's why I whine, that's the only way I can 'contribute'.

Maybe one of this days I'll give a try to the maemo sdk. Meego skd, I meant.

No need. Looking at the size of this thread and all it's replies we could try and compile this thread as the source code and see what comes out of that instead!

I know everyone says that the N900 is step 4/5 but it would be nice to have assurance it will reach step 5. Whether that's updates to Maemo or switching to Meego is anyones guess.

Nokia are a business and have chosen a path of using the OSS community phenomenon to reduce their overheads specifically after sales support and development. Unlike Apple who do the opposite and make a killing from their Applications store.

Probably all the "source code" generated by this thread is bigger than the new/updated lines of code from PR1.2....
