People, you do realise that manufactors have to have BIG volumes to even get access to the latest CPU:s, camerahw and modem?

Again dont expect latest and greatest HW from Jolla...

Also probably no buttons on front, like N9.
And WHAT in that video is made you think that its a dualcore ARM? :-O

Why? Having access to high end hardware is not an issue. But making manufacturers chip out Linux drivers for it requires high volume indeed, or in general not brain dead approach of those vendors. As PlasmaActive/Vivaldi efforts showed - it can be very challenging.

jussi said that meego should be really fast on a quad core. There are no dual or quad core mobile Atom cpu's yet. And also not soon, especially quad core.

Sad, cause with a quad core valley view (and some portable external batteries ) and a hardware keyboard, I know many people will be happy!

Nvidia has good quad cores - Tegra 3. And they are already used in handsets. Can Jolla convince them to cooperate? Nvidia is working with Tizen workgroup now, so may be they will work on Wayland drivers?

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/news-...inux-workgroup

“The Linux Foundation’s Automotive Grade Linux Workgroup addresses the need for a common reference platform for building products and services that exceed customer expectations in their cars,” said Kevin Flory, VP Automotive Software, NVIDIA. “As NVIDIA delivers innovative and scalable solutions for infotainment, digital instrument clusters and advanced driver assistance systems, we are excited to contribute to this workgroup and accelerate its development efforts.”

Access to hiend hardware non an Issue? Yes it is:

1 bigger volumes == lowerprice
2 big corporations has first acces cause they had money
3 small companys has no chance have latest cause of 1 and 2

if you expect latest greatest, fine but then you have to pay ALOT more, bussines as usual... But thats to risky for Jolla, cause who will by devices that is to high prices? The better take som older TI Cortex chip or some china ripoff. or some chip that is not "so popular" anymore buy other big companys.

Quadcore/NVidia is probadly reserved for Nokia and Android.

I was saying, that Vivaldi showed that some manufactures act weirdly (or simply put - they don't care) when volumes are below their minimum.

What do you mean reserved? Nvidia can do what they want, if it's in their interests.
