Ok, I''ve tracked down the issue with the config dialog not opening, I'll fix it once I get back home again (currently on the move) so a fixed package should be available tonight unless something comes up

After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!

Have to say though, that the integration with the existing phone sms is very good, almost seamless. Can't wait to get this going properly.
if it works and you can send and receive why would you want to change your configuration?

If you enable extras-devel all the correct dependencies should be installed automatically. Plenty of threads on here about how to do that, also a wikipage on wiki.maemo.org somewhere.

Uploaded 0.9.4 which should hopefully really fix all the configuration issues... I hope

Using 0.9.4 I can now open the configure dialog but Proxy and Port are now blank and the values are not saved after editing. I see no error message in the console.
Can somebody confirm this?

Crap, I think I know what's wrong. I'll play around and see if it is what I suspect it is.

EDIT: Thanks, found it, sorted, going to do some more tests before pushing a new release.

Workaround:
gconftool-2 --unset /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/z_fMMS-APN/proxytype

Might do the trick
