Re: which SoC it'll have.

There's no way it'll be Tegra3, at least not unless Jolla have lost their minds. It's by no means the cheapest of current chipsets, and has pretty poor CPU & GPU performance compared with competition. It's basically a highly gimped (and I do mean highly) A9 with a companion core. The GPU is slower than everything from Imagination, ARM and even Qualcomm. Power consumption is bottom of class, too.

Given the launch window they're aiming at, there's really no reason for it not to be an A15, which would be hugely beneficial for several reasons:

Absolute performance.
Performance per watt.
Major idle state and general power consumption improvements over A9 on a smaller process.
Marketing - headline specs are a big part of selling a product now.
As they're unlikely to have a suite of custom imaging chips for photos / video (unlike Nokia / Samsung etc), any fancy stuff they want to do in software for the camera is most likely going to have to be done by the CPU and GPU ... if it's a mid spec A9, that's probably going to result in a pretty laggy, unresponsive camera.

Personally, I'd also be very disappointed if it was a Qualcomm Krait S4 ... whilst a bit quicker than the current A9s, it's still miles behind projected A15 performance and performance per watt.

No disrespect meant; however the information is far too spread out. Pieces of it are on your Twitter feed (which I follow), some at certain websites, some on other blogs. None of it in a centralized location.

Even researched fans/members have to hunt for this stuff. And once found, we have to connect the dots.

A lot of work for even the dedicated. There are places where this probably exists as it paints the entire picture. But I don't know of any of them.

Remember... communication is the key.

FWIW, I've done libhybris in my free time, but it does solve a number of challenges for non-Android systems in mobile Linux. My primary channels of communication are twitter and my G+ these days.

after watching Jussi Hurmola presentation at Open Knowledge Festival, it seriously looks like Jolla knows exactly what they want to do and how they will do it. And community does play a big role in their plans

I've heard about libhybris a while ago only because Stskeeps spoke about it on the Mer IRC But really, Mer developers need a more streamlined communication. Like making a community site already for Mer and derivatives. Waiting for TMO to transition to that role can take months if not more. I think it's becoming pointless.

I personally don't use neither G+ nor Twitter or FB. So Jolla's Twitter communication is a rather unpleasant treatment as well.

May be something like Mer planet can be created, which will aggregate feeds from developers and other involved people around Mer into one user friendly feed? http://planet.merproject.org or something?

Something like this sort:

http://planet.mozilla.org
http://planet.debian.org
http://planetkde.org
http://planet.gnome.org
http://planet.jabber.org

It'll really be very helpful to see what's going on.
