This is my favorite reader of all, but is there some way to show unread articles using the "system" color, or a user preference for the color of unread/read feeds. In other words, going from unread-bold-white to read-normal-white is okay, but is still a bit hard to see.
Good idea, I would want that, too.

0.5.1-1 is in extras-devel. Same warnings apply as the version uploaded last night, with a few tweeks:
* Fixed read/unread issue when updating feeds
* Unread messages are shown in SkyBlue colour
Let me know if that's any easier to see now.

Excellent- works now. Even the issue with umlauts is gone. Good work.

Some thoughts:
Most RSS readers mark the articles in 3 different states:
- new (just incoming)
- unread (not new since the last application start but still unread)
- old

I still can't use Firefox to open articles and the same applies for links. I hope this is cured with the webkit release. Eagerly awaiting things to come.

I think the light bue helps a bit, but it's much too subtle IMO. Why not go with the whatever color is used in the small date text under the feed title? That way, whenever a user changes themes the colors will adjust accordingly.

Also, I agree tht the swipe sensitivity is too low. In other words, it is now too hard to swipe to the next feed.

Adding feeds with FeedHandler still doesn't work. Also preferences menu in portrait mode looks wrong.

0.5.2-0 in extras-devel now. It fixes the portrait-orientation preferences menu, the feedhandler dbus call, and increases the sensitivity of the swipes. It also enables the webkit widget by default now (you can turn it off in the menu).

thx the latest version works great, i have tested webkit now and it is way better to work with.
The only thing is that if i click on a link and web opens that page. Then that page is a bit bigger ofcourse then the rss feed. And i can scroll vertically just fine. But if i am in portrait mode. Then for web pages i have to center the thing often. But horizontal scrolling doesnt work i cant swipe to the right or left and scroll the page.

Very good. For me Webkit drops the need for opening articles in external browsers, at least for me.

Do you have some examples? Maybe a screenshot, and the link to some RSS feed that doesn't work?
