Portrait mode is available in few apps but its not across the OS/UI !! It will NOT come to Maemo 5 although full OS Portrait mode will be supported in MeeGo !!

I think for Ovi Maps it would be simpler to implement portrait mode, since it uses Web Runtime and microb, which already has experimental portrait mode. I don't know the technical details, it is just a guess based on what I read around the web.

Nokia is teaching early adopters, anxious by definition, to be more patient and faithful... Some N900 owners didn't make it and sold their devices, while others are hoping things will come.

Reminds me of that Kevin Costner movie "Field of Dreams"... he listened "if you build it they will come..." or something like that. Just in our case is "if you buy it they will come..."

Moderators/Admins, there is already a thread about PR1.2 speculation, I suggest to merge this one.

whats it with every1 banging on about portrait mode. i dont even use it when im calling someone. keybpard usually hangs out still. id never use any app be it game, music player or web browser in portrait. i think its a waste of this lovely landscape setup!!!
