It seems that my problem is similar to the bugzilla #7971, but reverse: my Mfe calendar sync worked before (pr.1.1/1.1.1) but was broken after update to pr1.2 (#7971 fix was implemented in internal 10.2010.14-16).

Can anyone confirm that under PR1.2, MFE will still not work with certificates that do not have the CA field populated?

When setting up the connection I now get a prompt asking me if I wish to ignore certificate security, to which I agree, but unfortunately I still get the same "Exchange server requires secure connection or account is disabled" error message.

Still love the phone, but it is very disappointing that something as simple as this hasn't been addressed in 2 major firmware releases.

Here is another log, this time with the added switches from bugzilla #7971.

The log is taken from the following run:

• Clear N900 calendar, delete N900birthday calendar
• Delete MfE account from N900
• Create new MfE account on N900
• Select only calendar for sync
• Default settings for sync
• Logging started just before MfE account creation is completed (before inital sync)
• Let sync continue for few minutes after calendar progress bar is stuck at 99%
• Cancel sync and account creation
• Stop logging

Result of this procedure is:

• N900 calendar has received entries for previous 2 weeks and future
• Exchange/Outlook has duplicate entries for all the N900 calendar entries above
• The duplicates appear when I cancel the sync

So if Vitaly (or someone with knowledge) is around, any tips are appreciated.

I have not created bugzillla report yet, but if someone deems it necessary I can do that.

My company has 15000 employees. I don't want to do a full sync contact. I know I can import one by one but I also don't want to keep them in my N900 address book.

With my old N95 I could remotely search contacts and use it in my email but now I can't. Any intention to add this old capability in the future.

The capabilitys is actually there (sort of). Go to Contacts, tap All Contacts and select Get Contacts.Then select Import Mail Exch. contacts and enter name or part of name in "Search Mail Exch. contacts". When you have found the contact you need, select that contact, import it into the device and search it from Contacts in the device.

The user interface is horrible (probably very little attention has been paid to user interface and usability in developing N900), but you can use the feature when no other way is available.

If you need better Exchange support, I would go for a Symbian device or a device from another manufacturer.

Need some help setting up a MfE on my N900 using my own domain (just bought form bluehost.com)

Get the famous message:

"Error: Either Exchange server requires sercure authentication or account is disabled"

MfE asks for:

Email: <email>
User: <user name>
Password: <password>
Domain: <domain>.com
Server: mail.<domain>.com
Port: 443

I read through a few pages of this post but too many entries to go through. Can anyone help?

bluehost.com gave me the following settings:

Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) box393.bluehost.com IMAP: port 993, POP: port 995
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.<domain>.com (server requires authentication) port 26
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) box393.bluehost.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

Are you certain bluehost runs Exchange servers for mail and offers MfE access to them? In a quick glance through their site, I didn't find any mention of MfE support, and it appears they're running Apache on Fedora Linux, so they don't seem to be a Microsoft shop.

I couldnt find MfE mentioned anywhere either but thought id check - their support team told me to go to Nokia for support.

Yeah, you'll need to set up a standard POP3/IMAP account (or use Nokia Messaging).
