Opera has nothing to do with libsdl-mixer1.2.

Also, @ohrn, I found another bug: Opera Link isn't working. It uploads bookmarks and speed dial in process however but doesn't download anything.

It's working fine for me now, without any modifications to the file.
I think it was a problem on the servers.
May be some possibility it was a fluke that it was fixed at the same time you made your change in Leafpad, Sean?

I also confirm that opera doesn't crash with the original opera.desktop

There is STILL a question to answer: why did it work when run from xterm and not when run from hildon-desktop? I suspect it's something to do with signal handling, but I guess I'll never know.

I myself am happy that the solution was not actually the crazy idea/workaround from @seanmcken (but I still thank him for making the whole topic so interesting, even if I don't use opera , because it would have required a lot of investigation to know WHY.

A server-side solution seems infinitely more plausible, although the client (opera) should never have crashed in the first place..

seanmcken,

I don't think any modifications are required...It was an Opera-server side issue most probably as it now works just fine...

Would also like to know, how 'Exec=/opera' can start.

Get this. It's now crashing when launched from X Terminal, bur working when launched normally.

I don't think it's browser.js. I'm still on Nov 9 and was crashing with it for days.
There seems to be another Opera Mobile 'dependency' on Opera servers that occurred on the same day.

That and some weird Maemo bugs.

Well it's getting a bit silly now.

I'm connecting fine over my Wi-Fi at home. But when I try over the 3G network I get HTTP gateway failed when trying to connect to Facebook Mobile and intermittent CTDs when trying to connect to other addresses. When it doesn't CTD it fails to load the whole page.
