Take it to your local Nokia Care Centre (see the Nokia website for the locations). It should be repaired under warranty - don't take no for an answer!

Well my USB port has become loose in the worst possible time, I'm on my holidays now and I will be back in about two week, but I really need my N900 during this time. Is there anything I can do to "slow down" the loosening on the USB port?

When I'm back, I'll simply bring it to for Warranty repairs, but that is in two weeks and I need it to work now too.

Any chance you can pick up a desktop battery charger? I got one of ebay the other day for about $6 just in case I have dramas.

I don't think you can slow it's impending death now, sadly each charge brings it a little closer to the light.. The only thing you could do is use it as little as possible to avoid charges..

You could do what I did here but this will damage your charger and Nokia would probably void your warranty.

Good luck

i had mine broken a week ago.... called the customer care and talked about it....they say a physical damage voids the warranty and they wont even fix it up themselves when i am willing to pay.... they advice some sort of third party repair... PALCO or something...... i am mad at them.... but cant do nothing.... tell me what happens to you

Don't accept that - hassle them and point out the Nokia Conversations thread that indicates that Nokia have accepted there's an issue and that it's covered under warranty. Or try contacting the main Nokia office in your country and ask to talk to the Complaints department. Unless they can point to specific signs that indicate it's the users fault rather than the design flaw (which the sheer number of failures would indicate there is) then it should be covered.

I had a usb issue 2 or 3 weeks ago.....my phone would not charge so i took it to a nokia repair centre....i also mentioned a few dead pixels but told them it was not a major concern. So having thought it would be a simple job i left my phone with them. i received a text saying phone has been sent away and to expect it back in 2-3 weeks....dam...i got the phone back in 2 weeks...they could not mend the usb so they replaced the entire phone. I NEVER BACKED UP MY DATA NOR DID I REMOVE MY ZAGG SCREEN PROTECTOR. I HAVE LOST ALL MY DATA WHICH WAS MY FAULT BUT I AM VERY ANNOYED AT HAVING TO FORK OUT AGAIN FOR THE SCREEN PROTECTOR. THE NEW PHONE I NOW HAVE HAS ISSUES WITH THE DESKTOP WIDGETS AND MY CAMERA IS NOW A PATHETIC OUT OF FOCUS BLURRY IMAGE NO USE TO ANYONE TYPE NOW.. MY WARRANTY COVERED ME FOR THIS ISSUE BUT COULD NOKIA HAVE A DESIGN FAULT ON THERE HANDS AND WILL THIS MEAN ALL THE N900 PHONES USB PORT ARE DOOMED TO FAILURE?
