thanks for that clarification
i got sidetracked by all that "freebies" story.
i maintain that the RM-680 will be THE Maemo / MeeGo device of the year and
«[...] it is beautiful and elegant and the hardware is interesting and the software is powerful [...]»
as Rich Green said so (hopefully) it will sell, ans sell well!
considering that it has a keyboard (which, as i said earlier, is required for a pocket computer running a real Linux / GNU), i'll certainly get one as soon as they are available in the shops w/ decent contract fees.

no thanks, rather .7 mm more & no additional battery use (except @ night / dark light, when it gets backlit) & always handy

and... what if you don't have a pocket in your shirt?
Battery life is okay on this one. Still pre-release so won't judge. And our usage may differ. But i have proporta charger (5000 mAh ) , Bt kbd , 2-3 phones in my pockets lol... big pockets !

I hope some devs sell theirs on ebay. I'll buy it.

I do believe Koajwujwer123 is telling the thruth. better components but lacking keyboard is the worst case scenario for me.

I do like the swiping gestures (smells of Skillman), and I'm glad the multitasking from m5 is there, so for those that don't spend 90% of their time in xterm or khteditor I'm sure it'll be an epic device, but it'll be a tough call for me.
It is confusing, but I do hope that there will be some way for people like you to obtain this device. I think hardly anybody knows for sure right now, so there is certainly hope.

Everyone else should not be too disappointed with the "epic device".

Well that depends on consumer to consumer doesn't it ? But on looks alone.. it is hands down the winner. Then we move to internals and all which are competitive.

What remains to be seen is whether Nokia UI is able to draw in average people. I think it has good chance.

Also should add. It is a very slim device. That is another aspect that people look at and this should appeal to them.

Hardware wise, nothing beats the SGS2 yet. I hope N9 slaughters it.
Lol, that made me laugh. SGS2 is good but wish the N9 slaughters it!

Keyboard device is the way to go! Would be nice to have an option though, k/b or no k/b, I'd chose KB ofcourse

Competitive is a very vague word... =p
So hw wise, it's only competitve? Not surpassing it anywhere?
(mostly concerned with display, CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage)
I know it's a different OS but still want 2011+ hardware...
